The body of work presented here has been catalogued as surviving records from a small and orderly community whose customs can only be partly inferred. The scenes indicate households, occupations, childhood instruction, and seasonal gatherings. Dress and posture suggest a society attentive to routine, etiquette, and neighbourly responsibility.
